So the first shares that were bought will be the first to sell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, you may wish to choose which shares to sell; Closing specific trades can be due to several reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimize capital gains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maximize capital gains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimize capital gain tax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For the above cases, you can control the order of closure and close specific trades when manually tracking your account, simply by going to the holdings table and clicking on the 3 dots and selecting &#8216;Close trade&#8217;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"361\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/help.marketlog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marketlog.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image.png 361w, https:\/\/www.marketlog.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-275x300.png 275w, https:\/\/www.marketlog.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-46x50.png 46w, https:\/\/www.marketlog.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-55x60.png 55w, https:\/\/www.marketlog.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/image-92x100.png 92w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 361px) 100vw, 361px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When viewing the holdings in Grouped mode, this will close in effect the entire holding.
