Salesforce (CRM) shares lost ground Thursday on the company's weaker-than-expected earnings and outlook, but Morgan Stanley analysts said they're still bullish on the stock, anticipating it has “significant room for upside” this year. Morgan Stanley pointed to the early growth of Agentforce, Salesforce’s new platform that allows clients to build custom AI agents. Since it was made generally available in October, Salesforce has closed more than 5,000 Agentforce deals, including 3,000 paid transactions. The analysts said shares could "likely climb from here," reiterating an “overweight” rating and $405 price target, suggesting about 46% upside from Thursday's intraday price. “We would be strong buyers of Salesforce ahead of these potential improving numbers,” they said. Monetizing Agentforce is “still in the early stages,” analysts at Wedbush said, suggesting strong potential for growth. The cloud services company is “taking a prudent approach to scaling the Agentforce that will pay off over the long-term with the AI Revolution now entering the software phase,” they said, and maintained a price target of $425. Bank of America lowered its price target to $400 from $440, telling clients investors may have to wait until fiscal 2027 to see material revenue contributions from Agentforce. However, BofA said it still views the stock as a top pick and quality GARP (growth at a reasonable price) option. Shares of Salesforce were down about 3% at $298.55 in Wednesday afternoon trading, and have lost about 11% of their value since the start of the year. Despite a mixed Q4 performance, I maintain a BUY rating on Salesforce due to Agentforce's exponential growth and potential as a significant growth catalyst. CRM's Q4 revenue missed analyst estimates, but EPS exceeded expectations, and free cash flows jumped 31% y/y to $12.4 billion. Agentforce has shown impressive traction, with deals increasing from 200 to 5,000 in one quarter, confirming its potential for long-term growth.
With Q4 2024 earnings reporting about wrapped up, the trends remain positive, although the outlook for 2025 earnings growth has dimmed. Stocks in leadership positions have begun to regain traction following respective price dips, suggesting the uptrend in the S&P 500 will continue if at a less robust pace than in 2024.
Salesforce's NYSE: CRM stock price can rebound to new highs in 2025 because its growth trajectory is solid and its valuation is low. The price tag seems fair at roughly 28x the 2026 outlook, but this fails to price in the growth expected by 2030.
I am upgrading Salesforce, Inc. to a “Buy” rating with a fair value of $320 per share due to its promising Data Cloud & AI growth. Salesforce reported 9% revenue growth and 13% adjusted operating profit growth, with a focus on margin improvement and cost management. Data Cloud & AI achieved $900 million in annual recurring revenue, representing 2.5% of total revenue, with significant future growth potential.
Salesforce Inc (NYSE:CRM, ETR:FOO) shares moved lower after the customer relationship management (CRM) software provider reported a revenue miss for the fourth quarter and issued conservative guidance. For Q4, revenue of $9.99 billion marked an 8% year-over-year increase by missed estimates of $10.04 due to a $75 million FX headwind.
Salesforce customers have to adapt their corporate culture as they add the company's AI product Agentforce to their workforce. Alex Zukin from Wolfe Research says the adoption of Agentforce is slow but a positive sign.
Famed investor Jim Cramer continues to see significant further upside in Snowflake Inc (NYSE: SNOW) as it has “all we really want out of a company.” Snowflake stock is up 10% on Thursday after the cloud company reported better-than-expected financial results for its fourth quarter.
