Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. stands as a prominent entity in Japan, deeply entrenched in the energy sector, primarily focusing on the production, supply, and sale of city gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Originating from its former identity as Tokyo Gas Company before its renaming in July 1893, the company has a rich history spanning back to its incorporation in 1885. Tokyo Gas has grown beyond its core operations to encompass a broad spectrum of energy-related activities. Its operations extend into engineering solutions, gas construction, and pipeline services, marking its prominence in the gas appliances sector. Furthermore, the company's strategic involvement in fuel procurement, power generation, including the sales of electricity, alongside its ventures in overseas resource development, renewable energy, and LNG infrastructure, underscores its comprehensive engagement in the energy domain. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Tokyo Gas also ventures into district heating and cooling services, energy services, and the development of LNG terminals and pipes. Its diversification into real estate development, together with the leasing and management of land and buildings, illustrates the company’s expansive reach across different sectors within and beyond its primary energy focus.
