MERC expects NBHK production at its Peace River mill to decrease by 45,000 tons due to downtime for repairs.
Despite a 50% share price decline since May, Mercer International's strong liquidity, manageable debt, and insider buying activity present a compelling buying opportunity. Operational challenges include downtimes and reduced sales in Europe, however, the $37 million reduction in its revolving credit facilities and positive cash flow are encouraging. Key insider buying activity during the panic selloff reflects management's confidence in a turnaround, reinforcing my positive outlook on the stock.
Although U.S. stocks closed mixed on Monday, there were a few notable insider trades.
