Overview

Agilyx ASA is a pioneering technology company specializing in the chemical recycling of hard-to-recycle post-use plastic streams. Established in 2004 and based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Agilyx stands at the forefront of addressing the critical challenge of plastic waste. The company operates through two main segments: Agilyx, focusing on the conversion technology itself, and Cyclyx, which manages the sourcing and supply chain aspects of the recycling process. Central to Agilyx's mission is its innovative approach to recycling, utilizing a proprietary pyrolysis process without a catalyst. This method facilitates the transformation of mixed waste plastics into valuable products such as naphtha and fuels, and even depolymerizes specific plastics like polystyrene and PMMA back into virgin-quality materials. Through its groundbreaking solutions, Agilyx contributes to the circular economy by turning plastic waste into a renewable resource, thus mitigating environmental pollution and promoting sustainability.

Products and Services

  • Chemical Recycling Technology Suite
  • At the core of Agilyx's offerings is its chemical recycling technology suite, designed for the processing of difficult-to-recycle plastics. This comprehensive set of technologies facilitates the breakdown of mixed waste plastic streams into naphtha and fuels through a patented pyrolysis process. By catering to the recycling needs of various plastic types, Agilyx's technology suite paves the way for a more sustainable and efficient approach to plastic waste management.

  • TruStyrenyx
  • TruStyrenyx represents Agilyx's targeted technology platform dedicated to the chemical recycling of polystyrene. Focused on converting post-use polystyrene, a common but challenging material due to its prevalence in packaging and other applications, back into virgin-quality products, TruStyrenyx illustrates Agilyx's commitment to tackling specific recycling challenges. This platform not only enhances the recyclability of polystyrene but also contributes to reducing the environmental impact of this widespread plastic.

  • Regenyx
  • Regenyx, a joint venture, emphasizes Agilyx's role as a chemical recycler of post-use polystyrene. Through this initiative, Agilyx leverages its technology to process polystyrene waste, transforming it back into raw materials of virgin quality. This cyclical process underscores the practical application of chemical recycling, demonstrating Agilyx's capability to reintroduce recycled polystyrene into the production cycle, thereby achieving a closed-loop system and advancing towards zero-waste goals.

  • Licensing and Equipment Sales
  • Beyond its direct recycling operations, Agilyx also extends its impact by licensing its patented conversion technology and selling its proprietary equipment to other industry players. This enables a broader adoption of Agilyx's innovative recycling methods, facilitating a wider impact on reducing plastic waste globally. By providing other companies with the tools and technologies to implement chemical recycling, Agilyx fosters a collaborative approach to achieving sustainability objectives across the plastic industry.
