Aurora Innovation NASDAQ: AUR is focused on scaling its autonomous trucking business after reaching what Chief Financial Officer David Maday described as a commercial inflection point. Speaking at an Evercore ISI event, Maday said Aurora is operating driverless trucks on public roads in daily operations, without a driver or safety operator behind the wheel.
Autonomous vehicle technology company Aurora told investors last week that it expects to have more than 30,000 self-driving trucks on the road generating $5 billion in annual revenue by the end of 2030 — an audacious plan considering it expects to end 2026 with just 200 driverless trucks and an $80 million revenue run rate.
Aurora Innovation NASDAQ: AUR used its 2026 Analyst and Investor Day to outline plans to expand its driverless trucking operations, scale hardware production and pursue an asset-light Driver-as-a-Service model aimed at supporting more than 30,000 trucks by 2030.
