Two Burritos Brings Authentic Mexican Street Food To Fairfax City

Two Burritos Brings Authentic Mexican Street Food To Fairfax City

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Priding itself in serving the authentic taste of Mexican street food, Two Burritos celebrated its grand opening Friday in Fairfax City. Rafael Lobo said he and the other two owners, Francis Do and Gio Winners, had dreamt about opening an authentic Mexican restaurant all their lives. But, the possibility of turning their dream into a reality didn’t happen until last July, when they saw a storefront opening up at 4290 Chain Bridge Road. “This restaurant is more than just a place to eat. It's our proof of concept,” Lobo said. “We set out to bring the flavors of authentic, basically street food, to the heart of Fairfax, and thanks to your support, we can proudly say it's working, but this is just the beginning.” Since the restaurant’s soft launch on Nov. 6, the owners have seen the proof of their concept borne out with customers from Fairfax City and George Mason University’s nearby campus. “The minute you walk through the doors, the smell of the food is so amazing, even if Two Burritos doesn't draw you in as a concept, opening the door is like you have arrived in a place,” said Mayor Catherine Read, during Friday’s ribbon cutting. The mayor was joined by local business leaders from the Central Chamber of Commerce, the Fairfax City Economic Development and the Old Town Fairfax Business Association. “The heart of Fairfax is small businesses like this, with the entrepreneurial spirit that are bringing their businesses to Old Town,” said Tina Disch, executive director of the Old Town Fairfax Business Association. Given the positive response the restaurant has already experienced, the owners are already thinking about expanding the business. “Our vision is to share this experience with even more people, and we are committed to expanding so that we more communities can enjoy the authentic favors that we bring to every niche,” Lobo said “We are so grateful to the City of Fairfax for embracing us and to our amazing team family.”
