ARBUSD denotes the price of Arbitrum’s native token, ARB, expressed in US Dollars. It tracks the amount of USD required to buy one ARB on spot markets and is the common quote used to evaluate the token’s fiat value.

Arbitrum (ARB) is a blockchain-based governance token tied to the Arbitrum Layer-2 scaling network for Ethereum. The Arbitrum protocol was developed by Offchain Labs and launched its mainnet in 2021; the ARB token was introduced in March 2023 as a governance instrument distributed through an airdrop and DAO allocations. The token is decentralized in purpose, intended for community governance, and has a finite total supply (10 billion ARB).

The ARBUSD rate is determined by market forces across centralized and decentralized exchanges. Price formation reflects supply and demand, order book liquidity, trading volumes and speculative sentiment, while network-specific developments — such as protocol upgrades, on-chain activity and ecosystem growth — and broader macroeconomic or regulatory news also influence valuations.

ARBUSD is used by traders and investors for price discovery, portfolio exposure to Layer-2 adoption, and participation in governance via token holdings. It serves as a reference for measuring Arbitrum’s market performance and is commonly used for short-term trading, hedging and longer-term allocation decisions.
