BioVie Inc. is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, operating predominantly within the United States, dedicated to the discovery, development, and eventual commercialization of novel pharmaceutical solutions aimed at treating chronic debilitating conditions. The company, which was initially known as NanoAntibiotics, Inc., underwent a name change to BioVie Inc. in July 2016, marking a significant milestone in its corporate journey since its inception in 2013. With its headquarters located in Carson City, Nevada, BioVie is at the forefront of addressing some of the most pressing medical challenges of the current era through its elaborate pipeline of groundbreaking drugs.
BIV201: This pivotal product has successfully completed a Phase IIa clinical trial and represents BioVie's ambitious efforts in tackling ascites caused by chronic liver cirrhosis. Ascites, an accumulation of fluid in the peritoneal cavity, often signifies advanced liver disease and poses significant treatment challenges. BIV201's progress through the clinical trial phases underscores its potential as a much-needed solution for patients grappling with this debilitating condition.
NE3107: An innovative therapeutic candidate, NE3107 targets the inflammatory extracellular single-regulated kinase pathway, potentially offering relief to patients suffering from neurological disorders. This compound is making strides in the clinical evaluation process, currently undergoing a Phase III clinical trial for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's, a progressive neurodegenerative disorder, significantly impacts cognitive function, whereas Parkinson’s disease, another focus of NE3107’s development in a separate Phase 2 clinical trial, affects movement. The dual focus on these distinct yet somewhat related neurological conditions marks NE3107 as a versatile component in BioVie’s product pipeline.
