EUR/MAD

EURMAD denotes the exchange rate of the Euro (EUR) expressed in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD), indicating how many dirhams are required to purchase one euro. It is the quoted price used in cross-border payments, trade settlements and currency conversion between the euro area and Morocco.

The Euro (EUR) is the official currency of the eurozone, used by multiple European Union member states. It is a major international and reserve currency issued and managed by the European Central Bank (ECB), which sets monetary policy for the euro-area economies.

The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) is the national currency of Morocco and is administered by Bank Al-Maghrib, the country’s central bank. The dirham is the unit of account for domestic transactions and is subject to Morocco’s foreign-exchange framework and monetary policy decisions implemented by Bank Al-Maghrib.

Movements in EURMAD are determined by supply and demand dynamics in forex markets and influenced by interest rate differentials, inflation trends, central-bank policy actions, trade balances, remittances and geopolitical developments. Market sentiment and capital flows also contribute to short-term volatility.
