Severn Trent PLC has welcomed Ofwat's decision on water sector pricing for the coming years and firmed up plans to hike dividend payments under the new regulatory regime. “Following a detailed review,” the water firm said on Friday it was “pleased to accept” Ofwat's final determination for the period between 2025 and 2030.
Barclays raised the firm's price target on Severn Trent to 2,960 GBp from 2,800 GBp and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the shares.

Severn Trent's boss has defended her £3.2 million salary, saying the company had made “massive progress” on river quality. In February, the Midlands water supplier was fined £2 million for spilling 240 litres of raw sewage into the River Trent near Stoke while the number of spills it was responsible for rose by a third to more than 60,000 in 2023.
