While the top- and bottom-line numbers for Agilysys (AGYS) give a sense of how the business performed in the quarter ended September 2025, it could be worth looking at how some of its key metrics compare to Wall Street estimates and year-ago values.
Agilysys (AGYS) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.4 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.39 per share. This compares to earnings of $0.34 per share a year ago.
Agilysys shares are up 60% since my Buy recommendation in April. Results have since been solid, with organic subscription revenue growth sustaining near 25%. However, valuation looks expensive at 30 times FY27 adjusted EBITDA, especially when compared to relevant peers.
Despite S&P 500 highs, macro headwinds persist, making expensive growth stocks like Agilysys particularly risky in this environment. Agilysys' organic growth is questionable, with recent gains largely driven by its Book4Time acquisition rather than true underlying expansion. Competition is intensifying in Agilysys' target sectors, while limited liquidity restricts further transformative M&A opportunities.

The headline numbers for Agilysys (AGYS) give insight into how the company performed in the quarter ended June 2025, but it may be worthwhile to compare some of its key metrics to Wall Street estimates and the year-ago actuals.
Agilysys (AGYS) came out with quarterly earnings of $0.33 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.39 per share. This compares to earnings of $0.3 per share a year ago.
PVH, MMS, ALIZY, BPOP and AGYS have been added to the Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) List on June 2, 2025.
I'm downgrading Agilysys to a neutral rating after the company's Q4 earnings print, as its FY26 outlook gives little cause for excitement. When factoring in the recent Book4Time acquisition, Agilysys' organic growth for the year is hovering at only ~10% y/y. The company could see upside from its ongoing large-scale rollout with Marriott, but without any contribution from that deal expected this year, AGYS stock looks rich at ~7x forward revenue.
