BURLINGTON, MA — Bob’s Discount Furniture will open its newest showroom in Burlington on May 24. The new store is located at 3 Abbott Park and has more than 43,000 square feet of merchandise. The new store is a relocation from Bob's previous store in Woburn. All employees from the Woburn store will be transferring to the new location. Started in 1991, Bob's is the 8th largest U.S. furniture chain with 172 stores across 24 states and over $2B in annual sales. Bill Foppiano, regional store manager at Bob’s Discount Furniture, described why they decided to move to Burlington. "This area of Burlington is a very robust retail destination for many local consumers and surrounding communities alike who enjoy one of the largest variety of shopping options available outside of metro Boston," he said in an interview. He said Bob's has grown and needed a "larger location so our guests can take advantage of a site with a larger floor space and an even larger selection of both furniture and mattresses at great values to better serve these neighboring communities." Bob's has 12 locations in Massachusetts, along with 27 stores across New England. Foppiano said that Bob's sets itself apart by making "furniture available and affordable to everyone, regardless of your budget, and Bob’s prides itself on always having the best values in the market for furniture." In addition to furniture, Bob's always has free ice cream, cookies, candy, and coffee available. The Burlington Bob's is donating $2,500 to Misson of Deeds, a volunteer-supported nonprofit that gives new beds and gently used donated furniture, kitchen items, and basic household goods to people leaving homelessness and others in great need. Bob's is also donating $2,500 to Shawsheen Valley Technical High School. The grand opening May 24 will feature a ribbon cutting and appearances by local dignitaries.
