iQIYI, Inc. (IQ) Q1 2026 Earnings Call Transcript
iQIYI NASDAQ: IQ reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of CNY 6.2 billion, down 8% sequentially, as the Chinese streaming company emphasized artificial intelligence, overseas growth and new content formats as central parts of its strategy.
iQIYI (NASDAQ:IQ | IQ Price Prediction) has been hammered in 2026, and the question for shareholders is whether the carnage has gone too far.
My "Hold" rating for iQIYI is unchanged. There are both positive and negative takeaways from its recent disclosures. Fixed-cost leverage and good expense management supported a 4Q25 earnings beat. But operating losses are expected in 1Q26 due to fewer self-produced dramas and the new theme park's start-up costs. The company is diversifying its revenue via micro-dramas, IP licensing, and physical attractions. However, it faces substantial threats from ByteDance's short-form drama platform and AI video creator.

I continue to rate iQIYI as a "Hold," following my assessment of its upcoming quarterly results and mid-term prospects. IQ is expected to report flat QoQ revenue growth and a net loss for 3Q25, pressured by stiffer competition and higher content spending. China's recent policy changes may ease regulatory constraints, potentially benefiting IQ's long-form video business over the intermediate term.
iQIYI reported a double-digit Q2 revenue decline on Wednesday amid a challenging domestic market, but the platform beat EPS expectations. International expansion, especially in Spanish-speaking markets, drove 80% year-over-year overseas membership revenue growth, offsetting weaker domestic performance. Management's strategic pivot to micro dramas and global markets aims to reignite top-line growth and restore profitability.

Chinese videostreaming platform iQiyi said Thursday it plans to open its first theme park this year, based on characters from its own shows. The forthcoming "iQiyi Land" is set to open in the city of Yangzhou in Jiangsu province, just over two hours from Shanghai by high-speed train.
iQIYI's recent blockbusters and mini-dramas investments are expected to boost subscriber growth and revenue in 2025, enhancing free cash flow. The company secured $344.8 million in convertible notes for content production, though potential share dilution is a concern. Despite substantial debt, iQIYI's ability to generate free cash flow and undervalued stock make it a compelling investment opportunity.
Chinese video streaming platform iQIYI has launched a $300 million convertible bond offering, showed a term sheet reviewed by Reuters on Thursday.
