During regular market hours, stock prices update continuously as buy and sell orders are matched on the exchange. For real-time quote services, updates occur with each trade. For example, a stock traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) may have different price levels based on regional factors. Most online platforms consolidate this information, but it's important to confirm you're viewing the quote for the correct exchange when analyzing price data.

While exchanges and regulators implement strict rules to prevent market manipulation, short-term price distortions can occur due to coordinated buying or selling, low-volume conditions, or misleading news.
